Dear Friends,

Shipping function and activities are to be reckon as a fulfillment process and not merely as operational. In global shipping, at each segment of the sea distribution chain, the cargo must be protected and beneficiaries should be aware of the extent of their responsibility and liability.

The bill of lading act as a contractual agreement between the consignor, consignee and carrier. It is regards as the most important document in trade. However, many have just "processed" the B/L without having thoroughly understanding the risk and implication of the document. Hence, when issues arise, they look back on the B/L hoping to find the code to solve the puzzle, where as normally it is too late.

What is this workshop about?

This program is designed to equip you with the necessary knowledge to 'manage' the B/L towards your advantage, instead of 'processing' it. You would be enlightened to re-define your view on B/L, as this 'routine' document could be a key element in building your organization edge.
