In the decade ahead, QA and QC managers will be facing more challenges and opportunities that at any time in the past. The role played by them will be very important in the effort to increase worldwide quality. With intensifying competitors from foreign products and services, the performance levels of quality managers will affect not just their own career but the economic health of the nation as a whole. The emergences of new markets which are cost effective and quality conscious are some of the main challenges for the future. Environmental changes and changing customer requirements are some other challenging issues for the future production and factory manager. The two primary objectives of the quality managers are to ensure the operations runs smoothly at high productivity and at the same time achieve the 7 performance objective of an organization. Many quality managers operate without a proper operations management process. This event will assist the QA and QC managers to put in place an operations management process where he/she can clearly define the activities and responsibilities of the QA and QC manager.

The Expert - Mr Thanaballan Velloo

Mr Thanabalan has extensive experience in the field of operations performance improvement particularly in various manufacturing and services industries. He is not only an excellent and resourceful trainer, he is also skilled in management and leadership of organizations. He graduated with a Honours degree in Management and Biochemistry from University of Science Malaysia in 1987. He also has an MBA from University Kebangsaan Malaysia, majoring in General Management. Mr Thanabalan started his career in the manufacturing operations as a Production Executive and gradually moved in various managerial positions such as Production Manager , Packaging Manager, Planning and Logistics Manager, Sales Manager and Factory Manager. To name a few of the organizations that he worked for are Baxter Healthcare, London Rubber Company, Solectron, Mona Industries and Asiatic Dipped Products. This experience has given him a thorough understanding of the opportunities and problems involved with managing work.

Since 1996, Mr Thanabalan has branched out into training and consultancy as well as lecturing various subjects in MBA programmes. He also lectures in University of Malaya and University of Technology Malaysia on a part-time basis as a visiting lecturer. To date he has conducted many public and in-house trainings in many business areas for government organizations and private sectors such as Ministry of Defence, TLDM, UMW, Titan Group, CS Metal Industries, Sharp Roxy, Petronas, ShinEtsu Sdn. Bhd., Triplus Industry, Metrod Sdn. Bhd., Shinko Electronics, Green Riverwood, Omron Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd., YTY Industry, Maruyama Sdn. Each year, NKF needs to raise RM3 million to provide the subsidised dialysis treatment. This amount does not include the necessary funds needed for their development efforts such as the purchase of a new dialysis machine that cost about RM 40,000 to RM 45,000 each to replace the old machine. We hope the funding from our programs would be able to assists them to alleviate the sufferings of the poor kidney patients.
